With more than 860 stores in the region, EDEKA was looking for a solution for their logistics centers that would optimize this process while maintaining their high standard of service.

When stationary, the AI-powered image processing recognizes different container types – 18 crate types are reliably distinguished – and counts them with nearly 100% accuracy. No manual counting, no media breaks. The system forms the basis for digital returnables management.
Edge.Trace complements the system as a central platform for returnables management: All captured counting data is stored, visualized, and analyzed. Via the web HMI, responsible parties have access to inventory, movement data, and statistics from anywhere.
